Biography

Jairus Mozee is a natural-born talent who has earned his place in the music industry as an artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. With 4 Grammy Awards under his belt, Jairus has captivated audiences worldwide with his exceptional skills and dedication to his craft.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jairus grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to the art from a young age. He was particularly drawn to his father's guitar-playing skills and fell in love with the instrument. When his mother relocated the family to Long Beach, California, Jairus was presented with a new opportunity to showcase his talents, and he seized it. At the age of 10, he started playing guitar at his grandmother's church, performing alongside seasoned adult musicians every week.

 

Jairus honed his skills throughout his teenage years, studying jazz guitar and bass. At just 15 years old, he led recording sessions for R&B group "B2K” and went on to release a certified Gold album. Two years later, Jairus caught the attention of Prince, who recognized his talent and invited him to share the stage. This journey playing under Prince's magic and guidance was an unforgettable experience that helped propel Jairus' career forward.

 

Since then, Jairus has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Janet Jackson, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and many more. He has also earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song as co-writer of "Best of Me" with Anthony Hamilton and won 2 Grammys for his work with Anderson Paak on "Ventura."

Jairus is not only a talented musician and producer, but he is also an entrepreneur and children’s book author. Despite his success, Jairus remains grounded in his beliefs that real music, saturated in passion and emotion, never dies. He continues to perform and work on creating the next global hit, inspiring new generations of musicians to follow their dreams.
